Project: Kaleidoscope Eyes Mailer Design
For this project, I designed a conceptual promotional mailer for a fictional exhibit titled Kaleidoscope Eyes at the Akron Art Museum. Centered around the psychedelic poster art movement, the design celebrates the bold, surreal visual language of the 1960s and ‘70s. The folded format reveals layers of vibrant color transitions, warped typography, and cryptic messaging—drawing viewers into an immersive, mind-bending aesthetic experience before they even attend the exhibit.

Methodology:
I started by researching the visual tropes of psychedelic poster art, focusing on its use of color gradients, hand-lettered forms, and optical illusions. Inspired by the idea of “seeing with kaleidoscope eyes,” I experimented with abstract lettering and color blending to create a layout that feels alive and in motion. The mailer is designed to function as both invitation and art object, with fold lines and texture reinforcing the tactile, analog feel of the era. Through researching psychedelic poster art and abstract image creating methods, I was inspired to create some motion projects to pair with the mailer using scanography methods blending digital and physical collage.
